Customer Trust Signals on WeDo
Trust is everything in home services. You are inviting a stranger into your home to do work. WeDo exists to make this safe, transparent, and reliable. Here is every trust mechanism we have built into the platform.

1. Identity verification with NID
Every performer must verify their identity with their National ID card. We cross-reference the NID number with government records. Performers who cannot verify their identity cannot accept jobs on WeDo. This is non-negotiable — there are no exceptions.

2. Background screening
For high-value service categories (electrical, plumbing, childcare, eldercare), we conduct additional background checks:
- Criminal record check through local police verification
- Previous employment references
- Address verification (we confirm the performer lives where they claim)
- Professional certification verification where applicable (licensed electrician, certified plumber)

3. Escrow payments
When you book a performer, your payment goes into escrow — held by WeDo, not given to the performer. The performer receives payment only after you confirm the job is complete and satisfactory. This eliminates the risk of paying upfront and getting poor work.

How escrow works:
- You book and pay → Money held by WeDo
- Performer completes the work → You inspect and approve
- You approve → Payment released to performer
- You dispute → WeDo mediates and decides

4. Two-way review system
After every completed task, both you and the performer review each other. Customers rate performers on quality, punctuality, communication, and professionalism. Performers rate customers on clarity, respect, and payment. This two-way system keeps both sides accountable.

Reviews are permanent and cannot be edited after 48 hours. Performers cannot pay to remove bad reviews. This ensures the review history is honest and useful.

5. Insurance coverage
For tasks that involve property risk (plumbing near electronics, painting, furniture assembly), WeDo provides basic property damage insurance:
- Coverage up to 50,000 BDT per incident
- Claims processed within 7 business days
- Photographic evidence required
- Available for verified performers only

6. Real-time tracking
When a performer is en route to your location, you can track their real-time position. You know exactly when they will arrive — no more waiting by the door for hours.

7. Emergency SOS
The WeDo app includes an SOS button available during active jobs. Pressing it alerts our safety team and can notify local contacts. This feature exists for both customers and performers.

8. Dispute resolution
Disagreements happen. When they do, WeDo's support team mediates:
- Both parties submit their version with evidence (photos, chat history)
- A human reviewer examines the case within 48 hours
- Fair resolution: full refund, partial refund, or payment release depending on the situation
- Repeat offenders (customers or performers) face account restrictions

Why trust matters:
WeDo is building something that does not yet exist at scale in Bangladesh — a trusted marketplace for home services. Every trust mechanism costs us money and engineering time. We invest in them because without trust, the marketplace does not work. When you see a verified performer with good reviews on WeDo, you can be confident that the system behind them is working to protect you.
